In-Salon Fundamentals – Razor Cutting Class

The perfect class for learning the fundamentals of unguarded straight razor haircutting.

We start with a demo. With a live model, I’ll demonstrate the basic/advanced razor techniques and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using the straight razor to cut hair.

Second will be discussion on the proper use / mechanics of the straight razor. How to hold it, how to load it, how to cut…etc.

Moving to a long layered cut on a mannequin head, we discuss sectioning, and I walk your hairdressers through the cut, step by step. We also discuss product selection / importance and we finish with a blow out so we can see the completed product.

LUNCH

We’ll have a quick reaffirmation of the procedures, mechanics, etc… that was learned earlier. Then we move to a long bob or ‘beachy bob.’ We take the razor cutting up a notch with a more technical haircut, and I continue to walk them through it. We talk product knowledge and suitability options and

Finally, we recap all we’ve learned and discuss how the techniques improve customer retention, improve your skills, and improve the quality level that you provide to your clients. After all, improving quality and retention is why we do this.
